Miami Showband Edendork Hall 26th December 2009
After an absence of approximately 40 years the Showband Scene returns to Edendork Hall on Boxing Night. In a one off special, the now legendary Miami Showband, supported by the Brian Mills Band, will provide “The Miami Beat for the Dancing Feet”. Edendork St Malachy’s GAC , in association with Mallaghan Engineering , are hosting the event as part of their ongoing redevelopment strategy and another spectacular evening under the theme “Rising from the Ashes” is planned. The organising committee are delighted that they have been able to bring such a talented, famous and popular band to the landmark hall in Edendork. The Miami Showband and Edendork Hall combine to provide a unique event, particularly as it takes place during the festive season. As expected tickets for the event are in high demand and are available on a first come first served basis from any committee member or by contacting:

Edendork gives blood - Wednesday, July 29, 2009
Last year members of Steelstown Brian Óg’s GAC contacted NIBTS hoping to host a donation session as one of their members had died from leukaemia. Following the Steelstown session former All Star and All-Ireland Champion Joe Brolly went back to St Brigid’s GAC to organise a blood donation session. Like Steelstown, St Brigid’s also had a young player with leukaemia.
Both donation sessions were a resounding success and it is hoped they will continue to be held on a bi-annual basis. Shortly after these sessions, Joe appealed for more GAA clubs to come forward and host blood donation sessions in their clubs. As a result, members from several clubs including Edendork St Malachy’s GAC came into NIBTS headquarters at the Belfast City Hospital site with Joe Brolly to see the layout of a donation session and to help launch the campaign.
